Mexicali People (David) vs. Constellation Brands (Goliath)
This a huge victory for the people of Mexicali, MX, who have been actively fighting with beer behemoth Constellation Brands over water for years.
The people demonstrated through a valiant effort they're more powerful than money. The needs of the people to have access to clean potable water for their homes, families and farms is more important than a beer company taking the water, of which the locals don't benefit from the product.
I'm not a betting man but if I were I'd bet if people in the US knew the beers they've been drinking (Corona, Modelo, Pacifico, and 6 other brands) were brewed in conflict they would be shocked that was occurring and change buying habits because they wouldn't want to contribute to that. I'd put money on that.
If I can empower people fighting for their rights then I'm here to empower it. The people deserve better for their families. No one should have to live a subjugated life by those who have more privilege and opportunity. Those with more privilege and opportunity should want to help others have the same for themselves.
